Final Fantasy V walkthrough played with the same conditions as on a real console. This replay is made with longplay / completionist style in mind with the following goals being achieved:
– Collect all jobs
– Collect all white magic, black magic, dimension magic and summoning magic. Most of these items can be bought in stores, but everything that could be obtained for free was obtained for free
– Collect all songs and play all pianos
– Obtain maximum power Brave Blade
– Collect all legendary weapons (technically you can finish the game after the first three)
– Collect all pieces of Genji equipment
– Collect 4 Ribbons
– Locate old man with statistics
– Collect all blue magic even when all bosses being defeated (separately from the main movie)

All micromanagement left intact as is. Most of random NPC dialogue was skipped unless its important to the story or if they say something funny. This playthrough doesn’t use any luck manipulation or tool assists so there might be some occasional inefficiencies during exploration and battles.
The Wind Crystal shatters… The winds fail. Ships stand still, unable to fill their sails. The world races to its end. Unless a handful of heroes can protect the remaining crystals, the world will fall into ruin. Set off on a grand adventure in the finest version of FINAL FANTASY V ever released!

Final Fantasy V is a medieval-fantasy role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) in 1992 as a part of the Final Fantasy series. The game first appeared only in Japan on Nintendo’s Super Famicom (known internationally as the Super Nintendo Entertainment System).
It has been ported with minor differences to Sony’s PlayStation and Nintendo’s Game Boy Advance. An original video animation produced in 1994 called Final Fantasy: Legend of the Crystals serves as a sequel to the events depicted in the game. It was released for the PlayStation Network on April 6, 2011 in Japan.
The game begins as a wanderer named Bartz (Butz) investigates a fallen meteor. There, he encounters several characters, one of whom reveals the danger facing the four Crystals that control the world’s elements. These Crystals act as a seal on Exdeath, an evil sorcerer. Bartz and his party must keep the Crystals from being exploited by Exdeath’s influence and prevent his resurgence.
Final Fantasy V has been praised for the freedom of customization that the player has over the characters, achieved through the greatly expanded Job System. Despite the lack of an early release in territories other than Japan, the Super Famicom version sold more than two million copies. The PlayStation version has earned Greatest Hits\” status, selling more than 350,000 copies.
MY COMMENT: Between Final Fantasy 4 and Final Fantasy 6, two very successful and well known entries in the series that make up the Super Nintendo trilogy of genre defining JRPG’s lies this game… whilst it is not known plotwise as one of the best, however the characters are memorable especially the main character Butz,
Gilgamesh the series most popular mid boss especially for his theme and Exdeath… an evil tree no literally he is a evil tree with the most annoying final boss form since Cloud of Darkness especially with Grand Cross… god-damn.
Now originally this was a mess uploaded as I originally had an XP computer which didn’t have room for this file… but now I present all of you with a director’s cut that includes all parts recorded, not one area has been skipped and I’ve collected everything I could.
I will offer the excuse of levelling up off-screen at certain moments and I attempted to follow the same methods that Parazzing did for Final Fantasy IV. –

Final Fantasy V – a classic RPG originally for the SNES, ported over to the PlayStation. This was Squaresoft’s first official version of Final Fantasy V to get released outside of Japan.
The story follows the warriors of light as they try to save the crystals, and prevent an evil presence from returning. When the wind crystal shatters, things start taking a turn for the worst. Will Bartz and the others succeed?
Aside from 2 treasure chests in the basement of Walz, I managed to obtain everything. All White/Black/Blue/Time Magic, all Summons, and all Songs. I also obtained all 12 legendary weapons, and showed off every dungeon (you can ignore 3 dungeons and just get 3/12 weapons, then go to X-Death). And I also defeated Omega and Shinryu and showed off the bonus after-credits cutscene. Said cutscene will only show if you defeated Omega and Shinryu in one save file (you can’t defeat one, but not the other). I also managed to obtain every treasure chest. I also managed to beat the game with no game-overs. I think that’s all worth mentioning.
The grind points include the march through the Gil Cave, where several battles with the Gilgame take place.
(SPOILER ALERT)
After Galuf dies, and I get Krile in the party, I go back to Gill’s Cave to obtain the Lumino-Staff to make the first battle with X-Death easier.
And finally, after obtaining Odin, I face several battles so I can find the Stingray, as he’s the only enemy with the blue-magic spell, guardian.

2. 훔치기에 너무 목매지 말자.
트윈랜서, 심판의 지팡이, 리플렉트 링, 도적의 장갑, 엘릭서, 비룡의 창 등등 안 훔쳐도 아무 문제 없다.
게다가 게임 후반에 웬만한 건 ‘신기루 마을’에서 다 살 수 있다. 전설의 12 무기도 있고.
아래 링크의 아이템 리스트를 참고해서 구입할 수 있거나 최종템으로 쓸 거 아니면 굳이 스트레스 받으며 훔칠 필요 없다.

3. 청마법은 다 배울 필요 없다. 쓸만한 건 몇 개 안 된다.
추천 청마법은 레벨 5 데스(발성 지하 노가다용), 화이트 윈드, 마이티 가드
– 화이트 윈드는 아군에 리플렉트가 걸려 있어도 반사되지 않고 아군 HP 회복이 가능하다.
4. 본 메일, 가시면류관, 저주의 반지같이 부정적인 효과가 붙어 있는 아이템은 애초에 얻지를 말거나 얻었을 경우 바로 팔아버리자.
저 아이템들은 능력치 자체는 좋아서 직업을 바꾸거나 어빌리티를 교체할 때마다 자동으로 장착돼서 짜증난다.
가짜 엑스칼리버도 바로 팔아버리자.
5. 최고의 어빌리티는 ‘돈 던지기’이다.
전체기에 데미지도 좋지만 시전시간이 짧아서 전투 시간을 대폭 줄여준다.
6. 참고로 난 후반에 피닉스의 탑이 있는 사막 지역에서 ‘금 머리장식(MP 소모 1/2)’과 ‘헤르메스의 구두’를 활용해 ‘소환 어빌리티’로 노가다를 했다.
오딘 소환하면 참철검 한 방에 정리된다.
Land Crawl이라는 몹은 ABP 7을, 그 외의 몹은 ABP 4를 준다.(적당한 돈과 경험치도 함께)
오딘이 참철검이 아닌 궁그닐을 시전했을 경우에는 2번째 , 3번째 캐릭이 다시 오딘 소환하면 결국 참철검이 터진다.(체감상 레벨이 높을수록 참철검이 잘 터지는 느낌. 레벨 50부터는 Land Crawl 상대로도 거의 무조건 참철검이 터짐)
4번째 캐릭은 ‘경계하기(caution)’ 어빌리티 달고 백어택 방지
MP 떨어지면 cabin으로 그 자리에서 바로 회복
이렇게 해서 레벨 57에 전 직업 마스터했다.(근데 전 직업을 마스터할 필요는 전혀 없음. 그냥 자기 만족임.)
7. 몽크, 도적, 소환사는 전 캐릭 다 마스터하는 게 좋다.
그래야 나중에 normal이나 흉내쟁이로 전직했을 때 가장 높은 힘, 체력, 민첩, 마력을 갖게 된다.
8. ‘5연속마법’을 쓰는 법’은 메테오를 예로 들어 설명하면
연속마법(X-magic): 메테오, 퀵
→ 연속마법(X-magic): 메테오, 메테오
→ 연속마법(X-magic): 메테오, 메테오
– 같은 방법으로 홀리, 바하무트, 플레어 등 다른 마법도 가능하고 여러 마법을 다양하게 섞어서 쓸수도 있다. 단, 청마법은 연속마법의 대상이 되지 않는다. (07:00:50)
9. ‘오메가’와 ‘신룡’은 레벨만 된다면 쉽게 잡는다.
난 치킨 나이프와 어쌔신 대거 끼고 레벨 58에 잡았다. (06:33:13) (06:48:18)
단, 신룡을 상대할 땐 ‘산호의 반지(Coral – 신기루 마을 상점)’를 꼭 껴야 한다.
안 그럼 첫 턴에 Tidal Wave 맞고 전멸한다.
🙂 플레이 후기
파판 1~10 중 가장 재밌게 즐겼던 작품이다.
개인적으로 최고의 파판으로 꼽는다.(많은 사람들이 파판6이나 파판7을 최고로 꼽지만 내겐 파판5가 최고였다.)
클래스 체인지(JOB 체인지) 시스템으로 인해 다양한 재미와 육성의 묘미가 있고
무엇보다도 메인 테마곡 ‘기나긴 여로(Ahead on Our Way)’가 예술이다.
어릴 때 이 게임 하면서 그 음악을 들을 때면 뭔가 설레면서 진짜 모험을 하는 기분이 들곤 했다.
뚜렷하고 일관성 있는 스토리 라인과 중간중간의 감동적인 연출, 뛰어난 게임성과 아름다운 음악이 어우러져 흠잡을 데 없는 명작이 되었다. 불후의 명작이라 해도 손색이 없을 만큼 좋은 작품이다.
다만 클래스 체인지에 따른 캐릭 육성 부분을 조금만 더 뚜렷하게 강조했더라면…하는 아쉬움은 있다.
액티브 스킬칸을 좀 더 늘려준다든가 마스터한 직업의 패시브 스킬이 자동으로 적용된다든가(예를 들어 몽크 직업을 마스터 하면 클래스 체인지를 해도 자동으로 반격이 적용된다든가 하는)
전사계 직업을 선택하면 렙업 시 피통과 물리 공방이 팍팍 늘어난다든가…
그런 식으로 직업 특성을 뚜렷하게 부각시켰다면 더 좋았을 거란 생각이 들고,
결국은 다른 모든 직업이 흉내쟁이나 무직을 위해 거쳐가는 직업일 뿐이라는 것도 아쉽다. 아예 직업 하나만 파도 되게끔, 그만한 메리트가 있게끔 만들었다면 어땠을까 하는 생각도 든다.
클래스 체인지란 시스템은 정말 다양한 재미와 활용이 가능한 발상인데 실제로는 그 범위가 너무 제한적으로 구현된 느낌이 없지 않아 있다. 유일하게 아쉬운 점이다.
